is dark gdk any good?
I know a lil c++ an im good at vb
I just want to know cuz im downloading it now
An can i use the stuff from FPSC in dark gdk
Im kinda geting tired of fpsc with all its bug's an its slow
an you cant do much with it
well im done nagginf bout fpsc
just want to know if it's any better
An i dont want to use DBpro cuz they keep makeing to meany add on's
Ill just test this if it's not good i guess i will move on to some thing more better
Cuz i have fpsc x10 an it SUCK'S i have fpsc x9 it's ok to buggy i have DB pro its good to meany add on's
I have DBc its ok
I have 3D game maker it was kinda kool for ppl that dnt know any thing bout codeing

I just want to make one good game to save up to get Unreal Engine =)
i have a long way from 7,000 to get that but as i sid i just need one good game an sell it for somthing like 20$ an save up

i used RPG maker an made a kick but game but cant sell it cuz it wan in jap or something like that an i had a friend make it in to eng

I made some games in VB an got some money out of it
well
My download is at 90% now i will see soon how Dark GDK is.

What's wrong with addons? You don't need them all. Judging from your probable experience DarkDGK might be a bit of a jump for you. C++ probably isn't a good introductory language. I'd use DBC or DBP if I were you.

And somehow I doubt the Unreal Engine woud be a sensible investment. It's powerful, yes, but one person saving up for it isn't practical. I mean, what are the odds your going to do anything major with it? And what about royalties?

If you want something like unreal 3 try out torque game engine advance. ya its $299.00 but it has the capabilities of unreal 3 and you can port your games to xbox 360 (with a seperate license) and xbox live.

@Airslide ya but i have lots of time on my hands when i get home from work i have all that time.
Its kinda hard to say.
I get bored real ez an when im bored i look for some thing to do
an most of the time its not good
I have been loacked up meany meany times form being bored
I wuld go an steal a car just to have fun or hacking
lets just say i done most of it
an i just want something to pass the time im only 20 an most of my young years i have been locked up
an i dont want that no more
so what i do is work come home an sit at my pc trying to do some thing
Ya i know i cant spell but i learn fast super fast i droped out of school at 9th grade cuz the teachers where treating me like crap calling me dumb cuz i never talked
well lets say they never called me dumb ever agen
I just want something way hard for me to do to pass time FPSC was kool an all but.To ez same for Dbpro
then last time i got locked up changed me alot i wont say what i did an i cant say
but let's just say i was way way lucky to get 3 years for it
any ways ya ima just try GDK an see what its like.
an makeing a game in Unreal Engine is more of a dream.I just want to show every one that told me i was nothing an will always be nothing a big F you

I don't think they give out Unreal Engine Licenses to individuals... Plus have you seen how much it costs?

I have Torque (version 4 though) and have never done anything particularly good with it... While FPSC may have its quirks I have at least made things with it and FINISHED them... They're not going to set the gaming world alight by any means but with each finished project my knowledge of FPSC improves and, hopefully, so do my games...

ok i just tryed useing dark GDK an its not that hard
its not as slow as FPSC i loaded one of my maps from FPSC an it looked grate i never knew that the FPSC rooms wuld look that good
Fpsc always made thim look kinda crappy
but w/e im going to try makeing that map with every thing in it an ppl to shoot an see if it runs slow like fpsc if not i found my new program =)
But i dont know if i can put up with haveing to load every little thing an then typeing in where to put them
its like a long list of code just for 1 thing
but i got what i asked for. i wanted something to test me an i found it
so i say bye bye FPSC it was fun


@seth zer0 i looked at that torque game engine it looks kool i dont know i just mite trying to save up for that maybe


soon i just mite quit trying to make games an just play thim cuz i been up for nights makeing stuff
justt like i was up all night messing with Drak GDK

oh an one more reson why i want to stop useing fpsc is cuz say Slayer222 or some other good game maker makes a game an they sell it an it hits the stores we cant use the same Media
so say he has the Colonel-X in his game we cant use it.

well i guess ima play some GTA 4 be4 i go to work

Everyone's allowed to use the stock media, who owns FPSC, but I suggest modifying it to look different and new first as the forums will be your biggest market.

Uhh... Isn't Unreal Engine 3 like... $750,000? That's waaaaaaay too much. And I think they only license it to large companies. Even Unreal Engine 2 is too expensive. Try XNA. It's in C#, which is pretty much like VB.NET, only a few differences, like that subs are now called voids, and you have to put a ; after most lines, and you need to use { and } to enclose if statements, and stuff, like this:

if (This.IsC# = true)
{
MessageBox.Show("I'm coding in C#");
}

I've got this book: http://www.amazon.com/Professional-XNA-Programming-Building-Windows/dp/0470261285, and by the end of it, you end up with a game with soft shadowing, normal mapping, a bit of physics, and a bloom shader, in addition to a bunch more stuff. C++ is MUCH harder than C#, and really is less versatile. One more thing... Please, type correctly.

ya i doing ok with gdk
My head hurt's alot when useing it
But i think that's from banging my head on the wall
but you guy's are right C++ is way way way of a big jump for me
So ill stick with FPSC an VB
I can make some dope game's in VB
