I dont like to pester TGC with email about problems that could - after some time - be remedied over the forums.

But I think it has been long enough. I have finally emailed Mike on requesting another character ragdoll attached to a skinned model, as well as implementing models in Dark Physics.

I dont know if anyone else has emailed him, but I finally did.

Make sure to tell us if you get anything. I've been wanting ragdolls for some time and every attempt at it has failed miserably.

Shame we don't have a phy make ragdoll from object commad, that'd be great

As I wait for Mike's response, if you all could just post a quick response to this thread. So that if I do not hear from Mike soon, I can email him - as a follow up - a list of all users who are interested (and who have been frustrated for some time) over this issue.

I may even search thru the forums and compile a list of all links on this subject and email that over to him as well.

Not that I want to be a pest about it, but maybe Mike just is not aware as to how much interest - and frustration - there is on this issue.

He probably has much to do, and with our really active dark physics and dark ai users we will probably get some help really fast!

Hi, I saw you had replied to my post over at bug reports so I thought I'd reply here as you directed me towards this post.

I was thinking about emailing TGC about this as well, but I never got around doing that. And I thought that they checked the forums more often.

Anyway good job!

If you are unable to get a response, and if you are going to compile a list of people interested in this issue being fixed as well as posts related to this topic, I'm in.

Here are my two posts regarding: [link] and [link].

Hope to hear from you again after you've had a reply.

edit,
bergice: Lol, from Norway. That makes us 4 I think.

I think he will not answer because some time ago I emailed him a long email about how to improve particles and what commands are broke there and he did not replied.

Hi all.

I received a response from Mike:

Quote: "
I need to spend some time working on both issues. The first one will be a big help to those using more complex models and the second one is also a key feature that needs to be demonstrated.

I'm aiming to spend some time on it over the next few weeks. Unfortunately I can't be more specific as I working on multiple projects and my time gets split between those.

Regards,

Mike
"

I am glad Mike is aware of the issues, and that he is working on it.

By the way, here is the original email that I sent him:

Hi Mike,

2 things, I thought I would finally email you on, simply because it is quite possible that no one else has emailed you these requests.

1) When will models be implemented in Dark Physics? Below is an excerpt from the documentation.

2) Many Dark Physics users have requested another example of a character ragdoll attached to a skinned X character model. (ex: "aiko.x") Could you please put this in the next update. I do not think anyone has been successfull at attaching the ragdoll to a skinned model, at least as far as the forums go.

Well, seeing as how he wrote "a key feature that needs to be demonstrated" I think it is possible to create a working ragdoll from a skinned mesh.

The only problem is, at least for me, to have to wait for that demonstration!
