Yeah, OK. It is blocky as I am basing it on the COD4 deaert eagle.

Taper... I can't find my dictionary, so you're gonna have to tell me what that means.

It means making the bottom stretch out a bit and the top to go inwards, its a feature in max.

SO if you taper it a little but by using a diffrent face, as in making a face line at the bottom of that back thngy and then select all the faces there and then Extrude them a litte outwards it should look better.
