*EDIT*
Atom 0.1b Beta has been released! Check it out here.
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=130765&b=5

I've based this game off an old retro game that was on the TRS-80 and CoCo many years ago.

Steer your gravitron through zero gravity space and collect electrons and place them in the nucleus to form the next element in the periodic table of elements. You score by how fast you can build the current element to earn extra lives and extra time on the next element. Avoid super charged projectiles and other hazards or your gravitron will be decimated! Have fun while you learn the Table of Elements!

The game is about 90% complete and I'm hoping to release it for open beta some time this week. I utilize Sparky's Collision and my own plug-in ZParticle.

You mean protons and neutrons and collect electrons to put in orbit of them?

Looks nice though . However maybe the colours could be a bit more vibrant, in the 2nd pic the 'electrons' just look like coloured spheres, if they were instead glowing planes pointing to the camera it'd look a lot better I think, then you could easily fake a glow. Same for the 3rd pic, the star things are a bit dim.

I dont know if you've ever played the old Atom, but it wasnt right either. It was mainly the game play to teach the TOE rather than the make up of an atom. Which could get complicated and confusing.

In the old game, it was the "nucleus" and you shot "electrons" into it to form an atom.

You'll have to play it to get a better idea of where its coming from and the look thats intended. And your right, the 'electrons' just look like coloured spheres, because they are just coloured spheres. They did have a billboarded aura around them in the beginning but I took it out because it was playing tricks with my eyes and I had a hard time keeping focus on the game because of the blur effect it caused.

Did you rem out the glow code, if so, could you make it an option or so? I think this could be massively fun with the Binary Zoo style of graphics - you're at the point where you can choose between 'fun' and 'maniacal'.

No I still have it but I've added quite a bit since I had it on and it's not alpha blending right and looks really bad. Im soon to be putting it up so you can check it out then!

Let me note that the above bump was made to notify people that the top post has been edited to include the link to the Program Announcements post for the playable beta version of Atom. It was not 'just a bump' for the sake of it, but had some actual progress to show.

I don't see he's being forum police, he's only saying that, like all of us, we'd like to see some more progress on a good looking game, instead of just an empty post.

3.11 We do not tolerate posts made for the purpose of putting down another forum member, group of members, religion, our company, our staff or any of our moderators, past or present.

I understand. It just seemed like a weird thing to post at the time.

Actually, I was being friendly, making sure you do not get flamed because you just post 'bump' - which actually is rather impolite. By making sure people understand why you bumped it, you would avoid such things. If you prefer me not to be friendly in your topics, let me know and I won't do it again.
