Hope these questions don't sound dumb, but here it goes.

1. If I make a game in FPSC, can someone play it on both XP and Vista?

2. If I make a game in X10, can someone play it on both Vista and XP (provided they have DirectX 10 installed)?

Thanks!

#1 yes, but they might run into some problems. i have vista right now and it works fine. #2 they can only play an FPSC x10 game on Vista with Direct x10

Yes, but it depends on the Vista operating system. I have heard of people having trouble with Windows Vista Basic. But I'm sure it would run good on Vista premium.

I am not sure. You need a Direct X10 Graphics card to run a FPSC X10 game. And I am not sure if you can run an X10 card on Windows XP operating system.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Hope that helped.

EDIT: Wow, how did I get my post into this mess.

There is no "New Vista". People didnt call vista the "New XP". Windows 7 is the next Windows Operating System. Look on the official websiete for more info.

By new, I mean an upgrade to Vista...

So they are already talking about coming out with a new OS??? What's the time frame, like 5 years from now or very soon?

It's not an upgrade to anything. it is a standalone operating system. it doesnt require any othe operating system for it to work.

What??
They should fix one for a change.
Windows has never stuck with one flavor long enough to get all the bugs out.
If they would, then maybe they could get the stability down to a level that people running Linux (ubergeeks) couldn't cry about the blue screens.

That is pathetic if its true.
Here is the 7th OS we released prematurely and will refuse to ever fix it before moving on to #8.
But good luck folks; it is backwards compatible because its really the old OS with a new GUI like all the others.
And we added just enough new features to create a bunch of new bugs that we'll never fix.
And the new GUI has rearranged the existing features just enough to confuse you to the point of thinking this is a new OS.
But don't worry, because before you get used to using this OS we will have another one for sale, and do it all over again.

@Microsoft
Fix the OS you've got nerds, before you repackage it again as a new one.
But I guess Microsoft has always been about money and not about software.
