Can anyone help me with collision? I've finally got my .X map file working, and have a the player walking around with a few animations.
DBPs help section wasnt eactly helpful in telling me how to create collsions, frankly.
All I need to do is make the map solid, so that the player doesnt simply walk through phone boxes and apartment blocks!

Anyone?

Sparky's Collision

Search it in a forum, and there are most there.

Just a thought... You weren't searching for it manually were you?

You do know there's a search button?

OK, Ive found it, got it into my DBP directory. I have had a play around with some of the commands, and I cannot work out how to use it.

How do I set collsions with the player's character and the rest of the map? The map is save in .DBO, and the character in .X .

Cheers

Right, Ive looked through and tried all of the tutotirlas and code snippets etc, and they all work fine with me.

The problem is, I dont want a piece of code which moves the player back to its original starting position, I just want one which stops the player walking through the map. I need buildings, entites and other stuff to be solid, thats all

Use intersect object command

If your map is several different objects do something like this (just think the cubes as your map objects)

Otherwise if your map it's a single .X or .dbo object check the attached example

cheers

Ok, I appreciate your help, but so fare, this hs told me nothing. All I need is some code which will ensure that the player model does not walk through the .X map file.

Thats all!
