Hello,

First off thanks to all of the kind folks on this forum, your posts are all very helpful.

I've seen some screenshots of FPSC games with outdoor environments that seem to blend right into the skybox background. How is this done?

I've tried it but no matter what I do, I always end up with outodoor sections that end abruptly at an edge with an infinite drop to the planet surface (if you know what I mean ) Its like my playable area is in orbit or something. It doesn't look very good to say the least.

Is it possible? I mean without hiding the bottom part of the skybox by using walls or impassible foliage or something like that.

One example I've seen is from peanutbutterfingers.co.uk. (screenshot "outdoors.jpg" should be attached...)

Thanks!

Regards
CG

well, in that picture you could just walk over to the hole and see the entire sky box and it would look like it was floating. I'm not really sure what you mean though.

Hi castek -

Yes, that's exactly what I'm getting at. I don't want the player to be able to look out the hole and see the entire skybox and see that "floating" type of effect the skybox gives. I'd like the player to look out and have the outside look like regular ground going off into the distance.

The problem is...I don't know if that's possible with FPS Creator's skyboxes and "outdoor" areas.

Thanks,
-CG

Click on file>preferences> and click on auto-floor, it will place a segment for the beneath ground. Or you just could click on a segment you are willing to place and place it around the room so it looks like a ground is there.

Do buy skyboxes from him, they're amazing! Let him have his wine woman and song and other bad frivolous things.
