Hello everybody.
I try this day, for the first time to load a bsp
My code isn't complicated, it's the following:

But the result is unforunatly that:

and the result must be that: (tried with quake3)

i have no light (i tried also to make : "set ambient light 100" but i know that dynamical lights doesn't work with it)
Furthemore, the sky (with some shader) isn't shown properly as you can see!!!

The .pk3 files containing "zone_combat_ff7tss_plaine.bsp" is at this adress:
http://ff7tss.free.fr/DidRocks/temp/plaine.pk3

furthermore, is it a shader problem? is it compatible? (and if the shader isn't compatible, how can i make some lights?)

Thanks very much by advance!

Hi there,

From your screenshot it looks like that you do not have enough lights placed in your map before you have compiled it into a bsp.

You can do two things:

1:

Place more lights in your map using your map editor and then try recompile into a bsp

2:

Download Guy's BSP Entity tools from http://www.realgametools.net/forums/attachments/bsp_entity_tools.zip and read everything which comes with it. You are then able to read the location of the lights when you compiled and then place a light at this location etc.

About the sky, I have had problems since the last Upgrade 4.1.
So what I do is have my current levels all indoors.

To prove that it does work, look at my in-game screenshot:

I hope that helps ya.

DidRocks.

Another suggestion is, if you have placed lights into your map using an editor, ensure that the range of your lights is large enough to accomodate big areas. I will suggest though that big areas which are lit will cause some problems when compiling. This is due to the fact that certain BSP compile tools cannot accomodate the lightmap sizes required for huge areas and you will get compile errors. To ensure that this is not a problem, start with small indoor locations like rooms first in your level designs and work your way up to larger locations. You will find that it saves a lot of hassle scratching your head trying to figure out why your map won't compile.

ok, thx both! it's not me who made theses bsp, but i will tell him what you said there.
But have you an explanation why the sky is like that?
Vulcan Omega : "About the sky, I have had problems since the last Upgrade 4.1." Do you think it will be made again in patch5?

@DidRocks

Set the resolution higher on the settings panel in the editor if you want to stop the horrible blurry graphics

Do you want Windows menus in your DBP apps? - Get my plugin: http://snow.prohosting.com/~clone99/downloads/tpc_menus_103.zip

hi Rob K.
Yeah, you're right, it's better in 1024*768 . I made it (i uploaded the new image, so you cann see it by refreshing your browser). But that doesn't explain or change this horrible and weird (it's the right term for strange in english, isn't it?) sky compared to the Quake3's ones with the same bsp

(To Vulcan Omega and APEXnow: i'll see tomorrow the guy who made this map and i'll transfer your suggestion concerning the lights)
