Hi all,

If you subscribe to MSDN and get mailed the CDs then ignore this - and if you don't want to download 1.9 Gigs worth of data then ignore this too - otherwise, it's great to see that Microsoft have released the whole of April 2003's MSDN collection (3 CDs) worth on their site for download.

Each IMG file is approx. 642meg and needs burning to CD before use.

How did you get to the download links? I tried their download centre and there's no link to these images there.

OMG, 3 hours for each one! I'll do one now, and the other two when I retire for the night [b])

its part of the developer news as the DvDs were sent out like 2-3days ago, but some people dont mind downloading and burning to CD.

i mean it costs you $10 everytime they send them, you download on even DSL and its like 12hrs total plus a few $s for the CDs - seems like alot less hassle to most

It'll be very useful as the last MSDN CD I got, CD2 was unreadable...

Good news everyone! I really am THAT good...

I found a news item on gamedev.net that reported this, downloaded the CDs and then posted here for everyone to see.

Cheers,

Rich

Thanks Rich.

On the new site, maybe you should have an announcements ticker at the top of the forum with info from the wider programming / gaming community.

An ISO file is a large data file which holds the contents of a CD. You use programs like Nero which can open ISO files and create CDs from them. You can also create ISO files using programs like Nero or EasyCD.

I think he meant 'whats on the cd's'.

It's the entire contents of the MSDN website. If you're not a windows coder, most of it's useless to you.

What do you mean by a windows coder? Would the files be useful for visual basic coding?

"a Windows Developer who doesn't know what MSDN is?"

No-one can tell you what MSDN is, you have to see it for yourself
