Hey I was wondering, can anyone model me some futuristic weapons? If anyone says yes, I'll post details about what I need.

Hey Buck, remember me? Are you making that FPS again? Anyway, I might be able to do some stuff in my free time if you want to post some of your requests.

If you mean this one, then no -

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=120317&b=1

That was my very first attempt at making a game in DBPro (I think). But since I was just starting out in DBPro, I sorta gave up after awhile. Now I thought I had the knowledge needed for a real, fun to play FPS game, so I started on a new idea. i have alot done so far (not that keeping the gun on the screen was easy), and I think the game is ready for some models

Ok, the weapons I would need would have to have the following features -

-Made by the US in the year 2030
-^^Therefore no plasma rifles or laser pistols^^
-Several bullet shooting weapons. Not necessarily bullets, but fast projectiles
-A rocket launcher or two, including models of the rockets
-A grenade or two
-An that would be about it... Also, a reloading animation would be great.

Oh, and if you can, I am also looking for two copies of each weapon, one with just the weapon, and the other with 2 hands/wrists/arms attached. (So you could do the reloading animation)

And a shooting animation.

And if you can, a model of ammo for each weapon.

Hmm... it seems you have all the details there, except how it should look...

This isn't enough for me. I need images of the models, I'm only interested in making the model from an image that you already have, not inventing a boatload of weapons. My offer still stands but you already have to have the images for me to use. BTW i'll atempt some animations but you may have to redo them. This also may take time as it will be somthing to do when I need to take a break from my projects.

Edit:
Let me show you why I want images.

The top one was done with an image and the bottom one was without(both by me) I can never achive a amount of realism unless I have somthing to model it after, I know others can I just can't do it so if you want my help i'll need some images.

.3ds .x or .dbo

Post some screenies, I'll see if I can use them.

Ok, I'll try to draw some stuff up. I'll scan the drawings when I'm done and post them.

Ok, my friend drew up a cool looking mini-rocket launcher that you might be able to model.

The images are below:
(Clickie)

Right-

Left,Back,Front-

Also, some other misc. things he told me.

-Its small. MINI-rocket launcher. Maybe only a foot long. He said 5''x2''x8'',which I think is to small, so make it bigger than that please.

-Laser sight

-Ammo is a 1500 Volt Battery that fits in the grip through the bottom

-The black striped part at the back of the gun is grey w/ black lines

-The grip is black with silver battery in the bottom

-^^ The battery is silver ^^

-Rocket support (to the right of the striped part in the RIGHT VIEW) is grey

-The rocket is grey w/ red wings (8 wings total)

And if you want to model the battery for me (I can do it, as its just a bent rectangle), you can. Its silver, shiny, and fits in the grip. I won't insert the battery in-game, but I want to animate the gun being "loaded" with the battery, so if you want I could model the battery and then you could animate it.

Also, model the gun with and without the rocket, and model the rocket itself. Or, even better, make just two models, one of the gun and one of the rocket, but on the gun add diffrent frames of animation, some with and some without the rocket.

EX. Frame 1 is loaded weapon
Frame 2 is fired weapon
Frame 3-15? is the weapon being reloaded
Frame 16-30? is the weapon being fired

^^ Those are the animations I'm looking for ^^, so if you have the time to do them THAT WOULD BE AWESOME. And the frames are just crude examples.

I'll do it for $10 *shrug*.

Although DBPro Programmer seems to be in a very generous mood so I doubt I'll get taken up on that offer :p.

not sure why it would need a battery with this voltage , you can launch a rocket with a watch battery (I know I've done it)

Quote: "Laser sight"

Not sure why you'd have one of these on a rocket launcher as they'd be prety pointles.. (rockets won't hit a target you've aimed at with a laser, not hand held size rockets anyway).

...and lastly you'd need some kind of buffer/shielding to stop you burning your hand/arm/face etc when you launch.

Yeah, we arn't really going for realism...

But then again, in the game you are a Super Soldier/Cyborg. So... That might offer you some protection as you are wearing a suit (sorta like master chief in halo).

So what do you say DB PROgrammer?

I would if DB Programmer wasn't giving his for free. And if I had a credit card. It looks great, I have to admit .

Ok, one SMALL texturing thing. Make the rocket fins and tip a little bit less bright. Like the same color as 10-dolla man's gun.

And also, can you make the pattern in the back 3D? You know, the >>> thing? Like, make some ridges. I don't really know how to explain it, but if it adds too many polys, then forget it. Other than that, IT LOOKS AMAZING!!!! I showed it to my friend that drew the pictures and he was speechless. Now he's working on some other drawings.

And add an animation of the rocket leaving the gun. Because in game, I can play that back, and then spawn a rocket in front of a gun and shoot it in the direction the gun is pointing. And then I would of course replace the gun model with the rocket-less model until the player reloads.

Is this good? BTW there will be animations but you won't need any animations without the rocket because you can use the "hide limb" command to hide it in the game.

Thought I'd update mine with the latest request for no particular reason lol.

Texture is 512x512, 998 tris.

I think I may try normal mapping it because I have no experience in such matters and would like to learn ^^.

@DB Programmer: Yis I do xD. It's not rendered, that's the ingame texture. I modeled it in Blender and used the ambient occlusion baker to bake the lighting, and then added diffuse in GIMP.

It's this button here on Blender. The model has to be unwrapped, and you have to have an image assigned to the UV. When you start baking Blender will render over the image in the UV window.

I'm actually not gonna bother normal mapping the gun because I just joined the forum contest and would rather practice with that.

CRAZY BUMP IS AWESOME. But at the same time, I'm amazed on the quality of the Gimp plugin. I've had Gimp for awhile now, but I've never really thought of it as anything too amazing... But then again, I never use it. So, after I tried out the normal mapper, and gasped a few times, I looked through Gimp's features. How can something this professional be free? In my opinion, Gimp borders on photoshop, which is EXTREMLY expensive. GASP

Anyway, hows the model going?

In a moment of pure generosity I'm giving you my model for free, since otherwise I feel my work is wasted ><.

Plus I got a job...which may or may not have influenced my generosity :p

Animation frames:

1-15: Fire
16-50: Reload

Frame 1 has normal position with missile, Frame 16 has normal position with no missile. I also included Rocket.x, which is just the rocket model.

Tell me if you have any problems with the file
