Ok, so i'm making a space game/engine and i want it so when you collide with an asteroid or something your ship makes the asteroid kind of bounce off and sends it in another direction, and also when ships collide to gain visible damage or stop all together using linear motion, or even kinematic, how would i go about these?

Note: Can anyone provide a working example of this? thanks in advance.
