Of course. Enemiy collision doest work, so 3dws is best for walls, buildings or any other scenery. You could build a full 3DWS level with no floor, and paint floor on with fpsc.

It requires a bit of work to get working, so expect tears and tantrums on your first try.

Does that mean that I can build something on FPSC without using any FPSC Media? I already have experience in AutoCAD 3D so hopefully I can get along with 3D World Studio.

I learnt that the hard way. Tears and tantrums indeed.

If it feels good, it's a sin.

You can make 3dws maps for fpsc in their entirety, even the light and shadow mapping can be imported from 3dws into fpsc. You can still add FPSC dynamic lights to the map after importing too.

Its also possible to make a static entity for your 3dws map and still have all the textures and lightmapping files render correctly.

As has already been mentioned player collision is ok but enemy collision isn't quite there yet although Lee is adding support for terrain in fpsc which should resolve the enemy collision issues.

Here are some examples I put together of maps mape entirely with 3dws. Only characters and dynamic lights added in the fpsc editor.

This screenshot demonstrates how 3dws lighmapping can be used to create seamless indoor and outdoor environments with imported lightmapping.

The 3dws terrain tools can also be used to create integrated terrain maps with buildings etc all using the exported light and shadow mapping.

It would be an interesting way to go for fpsc map development but not until the terrain support has been sorted out.

even the floor's 3DWS? Wow. Impressive. Maybe I can suggest terrain support in the V1.10 thread.
