Hey,
I just got a new Vista laptop, and when I downloaded and installed DAI and DP, and try to compile a folder with physics or ai commands, it says it can't recognize it. Both the dll's are in my plugins-licensed folder. Am I missing something or is it not working? Did I miss a step? Any suggestions? Oh, and strangely the commands are blue, like the editor recognizes them as keywords.

A report.txt file in the plugins-licensed folder has this in it:
Quote: "[VERIFICATION REPORT]
DarkAI.dll=NOT VALID
DarkPhysics.dll=NOT VALID"

But it asked me for my activation code and approved it when I installed, so I don't know why it wouldn't work.

have you looked at the Vista help post in the DBPro Discussion forum, think you have to let Vista know you want it to work, or something like that.

Yeah I did everything in the Vista compatibility thread. DBP works fine, just when I try to use DAI or DP commands it doesn't recognize them.

Ok I've found something that may tell someone something, in a report.txt file in the plugins-licensed folder it says this:
Quote: "[VERIFICATION REPORT]
DarkAI.dll=NOT VALID
DarkPhysics.dll=NOT VALID"

But it asked me for my order key when I tried to install them and didn't say it was wrong.

follow this it a post I received form Mike when I could not get Dark Physics to go.

Quote: "This problem can occur from time to time. To solve it go to c:program filesinstallshield installation information. You will probably see a large list of folders in here all with very long names. There will likely be two folders for Dark Physics {8EC28FBE-59C4-4FBC-B707-F8FDAE3CCAEE} and {76431DB7-7827-4BA3-98B6-C686AAD21868}. To confirm these are the correct ones go into each of these folders and open Setup.ini. There will be a listing for AppName. Ensure it contains the keywords Dark Physics. If it does then delete both of these folders.

Now go to the directory where DB Pro is installed and then into the Compiler folder and finally plugins-licensed. In here delete DarkPhysics.dll, NxCharacter.dll, NxCooking.dll, NxExtensions.dll and PhysXLoader.dll. These are the core files for Dark Physics.

Next download the latest version of Dark Physics and install this. Also grab the latest drivers from www.ageia.com and install those.

When finished you should be able to run Dark Physics and continue working with it.

Regards,

Mike"

plus find the one for AI as well. then re install.

Gil, have you activated Dark Physics or Dark AI? Similarly to DBP, they have there own activation keys which you need to use to activate them i.e. you need to run the activation process for 3 times - for DBP, Dark AI and DarkPhysics using their individual keys.

Theory is when you know something, but it doesn't work. Practice is when something works, but you don't know why.
Programmers combine theory and practice: Nothing works and they don't know why.

When it asked me for an activation code I just put in my DBP one and it let me through. Where would I get the DAI or DP one though?

You can get them from here. Just run the activation program and insert the key, it should automatically recognise the plug-in.

Awesome that worked, thanks . I thought that you could just use your DBP key, but apparently not .

No problem
