If Errant lets you, buy model pack 9/10 and using Fragmotion, extract the hands from one of the weapons and then rig it up to your gun model. Please ask him first.

For low price FPSC and Dark BASIC media packs.

Well i asked him, and he said:

Quote: "Hi Aaagreen,

It's not in my best interest to distribute the hands at this time. It's sort of a Pandora's box, really.

For now, the best I can suggest would be to try to load one of the new two-handed melee weapons into Fragmotion as they use the latest mesh and Fragmotion preserves animation (though I don't know what it does about the actual rigging)

In the future I hope to be able to offer low cost animation services to users in your position. This may also include authorizing one or two artists (who want practice animating) to use the rig but that is yet to be fully explored.

You can also let me know what kinds of weapons you need for your game.

Sorry I can not offer more ay this time.

Best,
E"

I really hope he does this, because i'm struggling to rig them in 3DS Max.

@GERM:

The license allows you to modify the models to your needs for your game. As long as you do not distribute your modifications, you can do whatever you want with them.

I would suggest against extracting any of the hands from MP9/10 for custom use simply because they are either incomplete (optimised), in funky positions which wil be difficult to re-rig or are early versions of the hand meshes. A better choice would be to extract the hand/arm meshes from the Truncheon melee weapon (which is free on GCS) and go from there. You can use Fragmotion or you can use a .X to .3ds converter like Rhinegold (sp?). That should allow you to import the mesh with UVs intact and re-rig in your animation software of choice with the least amount of problems.

@Aaagreen:

There many video tutorials on the internet about riging in max. Most cost money but some are free. If you invested the money in max, you should invest the time to learn to use it.

It's the truncheon i tried with, it's very hard to scale and move the hand model and bones to fit perfectly...
