How should I go about learning 3D Studio Max 9 32-bit? I've searched and searched and all I want to make is a simple spaceship!

Check the tutorials on the installation disc, I haven't looked at them since version 6, but there was a chess piece tutorial that was pretty good. And I still think "3DS Max Visual Quickstart Guide" is the best book for learning the fundamentals. I still look at it from time to time.

Try the tutorials that come with max, they are very good and will teach you everything you need to know. Go to HELP>TUTORIALS and search for the spaceship tutorial.
