I finally got the thing to work, but then I click "Build Solution" and this shows up:





Then, I put the dplayx.lib from the DX SDK (August 2007) manually into the lib folder and this happens:






Please help me fix this.

Its an eye-gouching amount of code with the magnitude of a thousand errors.

You shouldn't move library files. I'd take that back out.

It looks to me like you installed things in the wrong order, or did not run VC Express once before installing GDK. The many errors are telling you that DirectX libraries are not being found. In the first case, it only complained about DirectPlay.

Actually, many errors are often more informative than one, or two!

It would seem to me that your library paths do not include DirectX. It should look like this:



This dialog is reachable from the Tools menu item, the last item...Options
