You need to export the model as something else, such as *.x (the format for Direct X models).

I did. I just attached the .blend file so you can check whether there is something wrong with it.

I think it all has to be one object.

I joined the three rooms ctrl+J but the model still does not load. I tried to load it with DXViewer.exe from the directX sdk. It loads but without texture and the normals seem to have been flipped since the cubes are transparent from the inside.
DXViewer.exe says:
Loading model - F:\blender\office extrude scale joined.x
Binormals do not exist on mesh. Attempting to calculate.
Tangents do not exist on mesh. Attempting to calculate.
'' material 0 - No effect instance specified.
Reverting to the default effect.
SAS: Loading effect 'Resource:#103'
'' material 1 - No effect instance specified.
Reverting to the default effect.
SAS: Loading effect 'Resource:#103'
'' material 2 - No effect instance specified.
Reverting to the default effect.
SAS: Loading effect 'Resource:#103'

I will attach he new .blend file.
I used this texture http://photoshoptextures.com/stone-textures/concrete-texture.jpg

If you can see it, that is good, even though there is no texture.

what you have to do is open the .x file in notepad, and do a search for texturefilename The texture filename is wrong, so just change it.

As for the normals, in the game just use dbSetCull, and it will work out fine

Good luck.

maniac, thank you for your help!

I read about the texture export problem. Forgot to mention I checked that and the line
TextureFilename { "concrete-texture.jpg"; }
is in place and seems to be correct.

I can see the model in DXViewer.exe but not in GDK.

What does dbSetCull do? I found nothing about it in the documentation. Not even in google.

tobi, thank you! It is strange though. In blender 3d view after "recalculate normals outside" it looks the way I dont want it to. the cubes are textured outside but transparent inside. When I render it though or export it and view it in DXViewer.exe it looks right.

It might not be dbSetCull, look in the information file for DGDK, do a search on cull, it will enable the object to be seen at al angles, from the inside or outside.

maniac: ah ok you mean dbSetObjectCull(id, 0)? That would turn off back-face culling? Will try that.
