I have to say, this techdemo convinced me to buy x10 a few days ago. But you should be aware (I wasn't) that a few of the things shown did not make it into the finished program. Smoke - looks amazing in techdemo - changing size and colour - not in finished product, a big dissapointment. Instancing, is in finished product, but not the way the techdemo shows (different sizes - not in finish product). Also be aware that unless you are ok with modelling - all stock characters and entities are oversized - including in the x10 ready model packs - makes them look very amatuerish and spoils the look of the game.

I'm sure x10 will improve over time just like x9 has. But it's better to know before hand about these points and that there are still bugs that need to be ironed out with this engine (from experience).

In time, I know it will be what we expected from the start.

I'm glad I have purchsed, but would have been happier to have known about the changes before purchase.

The techdemo starts with a movie then becomes interactive.

I think you're referring to texture arrays and the suttle variations in instancing - that is in X10... well the texture arrays are, i'm not sure about the height changes and that stuff.

I did just say the height differences. The texture differences are there (5 I believe).
