FPS Creator X10 / Which 9 series outpreforms the 8800?

Well it's my birthday on the 26th and i will probably buy a graphics card capable of running x10.

When this stuff all came out i planned on getting an 8800 but people suggested waiting for the 9 series but now i have no idea which 9 series would actually be better than a geforce8800 in terms of speed and quality.

i dont have that much to spend, i have seen the 8800 drop to as low as £80 ($160?) but the last thing i want to do is get a 9 series which is lower in preformance than the 8800.

So if anyone has any suggestions that would be great, i am restricted to where i can get it from though because i dont want to pay masses in shipping etc. So i could probs only get one from a GB or europe manufacturer :/ but i know lots are being sold in the usa.

Anyway im not the expert >_> halp plz!

i think the 9600 comes just under the 8800 but is cheaper

9800GTX and 9800GX2 are better than 8800 but there is coming 260GT and 280GTX - both should be really awesome.

I have a 9800 GTX and it works great with FPSC X9 or X10 and it works better than my 8800 GT that I replaced it with, I bought a Zotac Amp version of the 9800 GTX its factory over clocked and it was priced fairly low and works great.
