Surprisingly, this is my first 100% finished game I made it for my Computer Science final project. It took me about 3 and a half weeks to make everything, including media, from scratch.

Basically, you are in control of a ship, and your objective is to destroy the enemy fleet. You have 4 allied ships, and you are against 6 enemies. But, to even things up a bit, you get 1 nuke

Controls are in the Manual.txt file, as well as some useful tips.

Also, before the game starts, you are put into the ship editor, where you can change the look of your ship. making it bigger or smaller doesn't give or take any advantages because the hitboxes are always the same size (i did this for simplicity and i didn't have enough time to implement different size collision boxes)

And I know the music and sound effects are a bit cheesy Sound effects isn't my strong point.

Enjoy!

Beginning of combat:

Firing a nuclear missile. Also notice how my engine has taken heavy damage from enemy fire.

Nuclear explosion! One down!

Looks cool. Maybe bring up the LOD? The textures on the ships look boring.

If you can do any models for FW, reply to the FleetWars thread.

Downloading now. It looks fun, but there's something about it. I feel it looks a bit empty and could perhaps do with some asteroids, or a planet and a sun or two nearby.

I'll edit when I've played it.

[edit]

I played it. I was pretty confused at first, but it's quite fun. I still think it needs a little polish, but apart from that it's cool.

Don't you just hate that Zotoaster guy?

thanks for the comments. i know it feels a bit empty. i was going to add some more stuff like a planet in the background and some space stations, but i didn't have time. i'm thinking about doing it later some day.

Pretty cool, but feels kind of dull at times.

You obviously aren't too familiar with CS final projects.

very true! SOOO many of the students had really lousy projects, like copying examples and changing them to make them "their own". but their grade reflects how much work they put into it. so, i dont care

Seems good but i couldn't really tell what was going on! I couldn't tell whether my shots were hitting the other ships or not. I'd suggest making the ships bigger or more visible, and make it more obvious when one of your shots hits. Othersise cool stuff, expecially giventhe time constraint.
