Hi, I haven't been here in a long time. I just wanted to share my recent work. Can someone please give comments and/or constructive critizism on my rendered images of an ogre head?

It's supposed to be low poly, so please don't tell me it looks bad just because it's too low poly. I really tried hard at this model, and it took me a whole 2 days to make just the head in Maya Unlimited 8.0, and render it in different ways using Truespace 7.5. Also, please don't tell me it looks like a monkey head, because someone I know says that all the human heads I make in 3d (this head was supposed to be a human head, but I made it textured different because it didn't look human enough) look like monkey heads.

Thanks in advance!

Please post just a .jpg instead of a .zip. Thanks.

I think the images are too big in file size. If I make them smaller, they will lose precious detail. Sorry.

Beast, how do you post .jpg image files? I tried using the "image" button when posting the images, but it didn't work, even though I put the names of the images inbetween the two bracketed image code tags.

Sorry, I forgot about that "Edit Post" button. And sorry for tripple posting.

No worries my friend. Just click attach below the message box and attach (1 .jpg picture per message) the pictures in 3 separate mesages.

All the best,

It's a start, you might want to add some more geometry to the model, there IS such a thing as too low poly :p.

Your shots make it hard to see what exactly the shape of the face is because the textures seem to have no lighting, but from what I can tell you definitely need to round it out a bit. Add some curves

Keep at it ^^

I do have a much more high poly version I could render in Maya, so check out that too. Thanks for a kind reveiw!

This image I made in Maya has the original UV map I made.

The texture needs a lot of work, right now it looks like you've just taken random seemless textures and thrown them on the model. Is he even uv-mapped?

I agree with Ruccus on this one, although can we see a solid wireframe render please? Would be much easier to feedback if we could.

If someone says "pls" because it is shorter than "please" I say "no" because it is shorter than "yes"...

Yes, it is UV mapped, and I have the screenshot of the wireframe model of the ogre here. I copied the model in Truespace, and rotated it to get the different views of the head. This is the high poly version:
