Newcomers DBPro Corner / Object not visible

Well, i've already searched the forum for a half hour, but i haven't found anything...

Well that's what I do:
I create an dbo Object using the 3D World Studio.
Than I load an object, reposition it to 20,20,20 and point camera to that location.

sync is on, mouse is hidden and resolution is 800x600x32

Also there's an infinite loop for keeping the program running and a sync inside.

But I only see blue...

Textures are in the same folder as the object and actually I'm loading the example Map

I hope you can help me,

1.is autocam off
2. some code.
3. does your code show cube if you make one instead of the loaded object.

I don\'t know what autocam is, but i haven\'t turned it on and I\'m changing the camera every frame^^

And yes, it shows cubes... it also shows .x objects but without any texture^^

And i want to use DBOs

Okay... i found the problem: I haven't added any Lights...

Next Problem: The Cube i made is either grey or white... And that seem to depend on the Format i save it in... If i save it as .x file, it's grey; and if i save it as .dbo file, it's white...

What do i do wrong? Are the lights too bright?!?

Post your model and your textures and we'll take a look - the problem is most likely to be where you've placed your textures in relation to your DBO file.

Thats my model in 3dw format... I'm using the standart texture(s), so I don't think you need 'em...

Well that's your problem then, because DBPro DOES need the textures - they're only standard for 3D World Studio, and that's only because it knows where to find the texture files in its own runtime folder.

When you move the DBO file, you also need to move the textures that 3DWS puts alongside it.

Oh... you misunderstood me...
I meant YOU don't need 'em...

If I export it to .x or .dbo format, the World Studio will automatically copy the textures.

I don't have 3DWS, so that file is not much good to me. What I wanted to see was the DBO file AND the textures related to it.

You cannot use the "standard" 3DWS textures...they are in a proprietary format that only 3DWS understands. (The ones with the .stf extension.) I know of no conversion available, since the format is undocumented and proprietary.

You must use textures that DBPro can load. (.BMP, .JPG, .DDS, .TGA, .PNG)

It would be best to gather the proper textures in the folder that 3DWS uses, and use those only.
