Ive been working on my game for six months. Ive managed to get as far as collisions, weopon tweaking, running etc. In fact apart from cleaning up the code and AI i'm very close to finishing the code making and adding media files to produce one level of game playing(Eventually I can create as many levels as I like) but for now I just want to get a level done.

I estimated 3 months of programming etc. I see now why a team is required. Solo game writing is okay but for developement of real quality media you need others fully dedicated to specific modeling, sound creation etc

Anyone interested in creating a team let me know. The programming is nearly done and it could be my contribution.

You should put this into the team requests. People who are looking for a team usually looks there.

Current project: Dodge Viper Car Game (Not named yet) Other car models are going to be included soon

I know how you feel about the daunting task of game making! The last game I made on my own (and actually managed to complete!) took a whole 13 months of work!

Well, I'm looking for a team - what sort of stuff can you do, Architect? I'm particularly looking for someone who can model people, but there's plenty of other things that I'd like a hand with.

Check out my eMalice website below and let me know if you're interested. I look forward to hearing from you!

Very nice!

At the moment I'm developing an FPS that should easily be usable in the future for any period such as world war 2, modern day, futuristic etc. Most weopons are configurable with their own impact types, smoke trails, number of projectiles per shot, scopes etc.

Levels will be definable so that more than one can be created and initialised, either sequentially or by choice.

Im going to put together a small web site for people to look at and decide if they are interested. I think a lot more info is required by them.

Show us a demo man!!! I'm happy to do audio for a game, but I've been stung in the tail so many times doing work for a game that's never gonna get done.

Throw up some screenies and a demo!

Fallout,

Thats the prob. I am currently making a website. See above. It should be ready soon. As for a demo, I am in a position to show something but its all sketch work and stand in media. The reason I need help is because the demo is taking longer to complete. Remember that I intend to make an open program that will be flexible in making any fps style game we want with.

Ahh well, sound is one of the last pieces of the puzzle. Good look on hunting down some more help, and when it gets to sound time, let me know.

Fallout, if you seriously want to take part let me know. It takes all sorts to form a team. Any team which forms should have an input on how the final game will be completed and I cetainly could do with some audio talent.

Whoops! I thought you meant you wanted to join team, Architect.

I can't help you out myself, since I'm busy with my own work and another team that I'm in, but I still hope you have more team-forming success than I've had! Good luck!

There's a few problems with alot of teams based around here that I can think of.. one is that most are programmers.. not all but most so it's hard work finding anyone to help in the other areas that are competant, another is that you generally end up with a couple of do-ers and the rest end up chating lots and achieving nothing or just not actually taking part that much, certainly not enough to get anything done, it's seems everyone or the majority want to be the CEO and take charge of things when clearly they are not up to the challenge, quite why such a possition is needed in a hobby based activity is beyond me!! , there are more problems with team forming but I'm not really that negative(honest) .

If you can get a team together that works well and more importantly hard then you will be doing very well.

I know what you mean about the tasks growing though, I'm still making Cluckie Egg which was meant for the retro competition, I end up having a massive game making fest then lose motivation after I think of another 100 things I should be adding into the game and then get going again a week or 2 down the line.. I'm horribly bad at guageing the time it takes to complete a section of the game too, things seems to always take at least double what you first generously give!.

The times I think if only I had another (Better) programmer and texturer or all round artist guy etc.. it's definately harder these days to finish things on your own if your trying to cope with it all, it can be done, don;t get me wrong, but by few people I should imagine.

Anyway apart from all that gumph and genarlly poor information I just wrote.. , if you need someone to boost moral than free to let me know here if I'm wanted and I'll pass on my contact details, I don't really know where I could help as I can do various bits and pieces but nothing really well.. but I do have persistence especially when working with others, we can always have a word or two and see how it goes... x-d
