well I started looking at this forum and I love all of the good music that You guys have made. And I was just wondering if anyone has used a violin in one of their pieces.

I've used a violin VSTi in one of my pieces. I also have a real violin, but I have never recorded with it.

Well, I've used samples for a violin section in a lot of songs.
The solo violin is more scarcely used, mainly because I don't have any samples that I think gives a correct sound :/
The same goes for the cello, which is sad as those two in reality makes great solo instruments.

Edit: Oh yeah, I've even test played the famous (?) Stradivari Violin vst once... either I sucked at getting it, or even that sounded pretty bad.

I think the VST I used was DSK Strings. It has good quality, but It ate up CPU like a bitch, lol
