I'm looking for a or some good artists. unfortunately i don't have any money . Could anyone give me a hand? I'd need some sketches of landscapes, urban areas, interiors and mutant characters. My main style is the japanese manga stile, or comic/ralistic style. If anyone is interested, please post. Anyway this is one of my works.

You seem to be a competent artist in your own right?
Are you looking for someone just to speed things up?
Even though you don't have any money, you need to come
up with something. Barter!

Hey, I made a team request on the FPSC General Chat Board and they said it's not allowed. I'm not trying to be rude or anything (I'm not like that), but why did they tell me that team requests are not allowed if "I want to make scripts" can? Like I said I'm really not trying to attack anyone, I don't do stuff like that, I'm just wondering

ThanX,

Justin ,no problem ,maybe you're right. In case i've mistaken, I'm sorry, I don't have any bad intentions. Uthink, thanks for the compliment, the barter is a good idea! but...what could I barter?
Anyways I'm searching some artists to speed up the work, and because I don't have any ideas or inspiration anymore. And I would like to see other person's ideas.

oh no, dont apoligize! if anyone should apoligize it should be me. I was just kinda grumpy (up all night on FPSC X10. LOL.) I know you don't have any bad intentions . I was just bringing it up. so anyways, hmmm, I've been thinking, since i'm getting more and more used to and fimiliar with the fpsc and fpsc x10 engine, why don't we team up and help each other out with both of our projects. Is that a good idea? I don't ask for anything in return, Nothing at all . and of course I'll let you be a private beta tester for my games . So what do ya say? Does That sound cool?

Well, will this game be commercial or free? If it'
s commercial you could offer a cut of the proffits and a free copy of the game. Alternatively, do you have any skills you could offer in return?

I do a lot of freelance art for game creators, but I'm weighed down by projects at the moment so I doubt I'd be much help...

The first thing is to ask yourself what skills do you have? If you say "none", then stop now. Because if there is nothing you bring to the table, what do you think the outcome will be?

Nearly everyone has something, it could be offering to help with mapping levels, writing help documents, adding ideas to storylines, writing dialog, or testing levels for someone. I could go on an on. There are dozens of things that need to be done to develop a game, it's rare that one person does them all. Even the gesture of offering to help someone helps. It's always better than just asking people to lend their time and skills for nothing. Okay, maybe they would have karma going for them. But many don't subscribe to karma. Or at least they want the payoff to be immediate, not in the next life.

(PS: I do believe that "one" person could. If musicians can write, engineer, play all instruments, and produce hit CD's, surely and artist could do the same with a game.)

Now thats something i would love to barter for...

I HATE writing help documents...to bad im not an artist...

Watch it though, ive left this unlocked because uman seems to think it appropriate, but it seems like its bordering on a team request.

Yeah, if he offers up something, then this thread would be semi-legit.

Help docs, user manuals. I'm not sure why, but developers avoid documentation like the plague. I can't tell you how many hours I've put into documenting and planning before even starting development. Levels seem to be tough to document. I'm finding that tools that RPG gamers use may come in handy.

Well, I have three main skills: Drawing(manga, realistic and classic style), I know how to use Softimage XSI(modelling, texturing, using normal and parallax maps ecc. but I still have to learn how to animate) and I wright(actually I'm making the story for my game). I'm making my game by myself. I had an artist and a wrighter, but they bailed me They said that my project was too ambitious for them. I've made the characters, vehicles, enemies and weapons for the game, both on paper and 3D, but I have problems with the locations: I've made a lot of photos of urban areas like cities. but I need a guide on paper to work both from the top and in 3d. And I need someone to build half-futuristic urban, outdoor, indoor and war scenes.

Well, it's a nice idea, I'd like to team up, but I have an ambicious project, very complicated with a lot of ideas. If you need me,if anyone needs me, I'm always available

Flash, could you show one of your drawings/works? I'd prefer a landscape. And anyway I could use any hand possible.

BULLSHOCK 2, I did not think this particularly appropriate and yes it "borders" on a team request which is why I left it be.

I dont always immediately take action in threads where content may or may not be appropiate, sometimes because I wish step back to consider my own judgement before making a decision or see how a thread develops.

The point here is made for all to consider, now I would suggest that those partaking contact each other privately if they wish to continue onwards "together".
