Here is something I have invented. It is real directional lighting. No decals used, just a simple trick. You can use any color light and any room, it doesn't matter. It will always work. Just check out the screen shot for proof!

It's cool, but that trick is old. I'm talking "book is stupid" old.

If it feels good, it's a sin.

Nice job! So are you going to release this technique for sale? How does it affect fps rate? Any difference?

Hehe... Helix Software did it earlier, one year ago, just check the german forum.

It's a static entity with a complete transparent texture and a light inside. Nothing more. (You should use an open cylinder or an open box to get those results - faces inside)

It´s not a "technique" it´s only a little trick...
And its like a normal light. There arent any FPS slowdowns...

@_sYn_, How's it funny? I created something innovative. I just didn't know that it had already been invented.

@Nighthawk, Oh, I didn't know. Well, I will go through with my idea anyway. Because I will be adding different ones and having animated ones too.

Static objects cannot be animated and you need static objects for that kind of lightning...

I know, I just thought about that. Well, I will still create lots of different shapes and stuff.

But EFX mod will have dynamic shadows soon anyway... You told us!

Dynamic shadows are already in FPSC X9 he just said the dynamic shadow model has been improved so I wouldn't expect moving shadows from fans or anything just yet (hope to be proved wrong).

He did say there will be moving lights in the next EFX mod which is still pretty exciting but might be wishful thinking to expect dynamic shadows to be cast with this aswell.

EFX mod is by far the best thing to hit FPSC X9. I just hope Lee is intending to release an up to date source prior to the migration release otherwise so you don't miss out on other improvements.

Come on, I figured that one out when I had FPSC beta! Oh wait, this isn't about me. WHY IS THIS NOT ABOUT ME!?! Damn it!!! Anyway, those lights look pretty cool. Also, you could get it to spell out messages on the walls.

If it feels good, it's a sin.

Read Nomad Soul's post
the dynamic lights are being updated and improved - but they are still based on the standard dynamic lightning system of the FPSC

...movable lights are in efxMod 1.54 Classic, btw.

But in the screenshot you showed a character with shadows.... this therefore should work on a fan.

Ok, so you mean it's simply creating a box/cylinder, removing one side, inverting the faces, importing it into FPSC, making it static, placing a light inside it and then enjoying directional lights? Ok, then I seem to understand how.
