I have installed all three items as said here:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_get.html

But I get the following:

---------------------------
Rigid Bodies (ESCAPE to Quit): Rigid Bodies.exe - Unable To Locate Component
---------------------------
This application has failed to start because nvcuda.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Am using Vista

Cheers

Make sure you have the latest NVIDIA PhysX driver installed as well as the latest GPU driver.

Same here. As soon as I updated to the new drivers, I get this error.

try this it got mine re going after a year with in not working.

Quote: ""This problem can occur from time to time. To solve it go to c:program filesinstallshield installation information. You will probably see a large list of folders in here all with very long names. There will likely be two folders for Dark Physics {8EC28FBE-59C4-4FBC-B707-F8FDAE3CCAEE} and {76431DB7-7827-4BA3-98B6-C686AAD21868}. To confirm these are the correct ones go into each of these folders and open Setup.ini. There will be a listing for AppName. Ensure it contains the keywords Dark Physics. If it does then delete both of these folders.

Now go to the directory where DB Pro is installed and then into the Compiler folder and finally plugins-licensed. In here delete DarkPhysics.dll, NxCharacter.dll, NxCooking.dll, NxExtensions.dll and PhysXLoader.dll. These are the core files for Dark Physics.

Next download the latest version of Dark Physics and install this. Also grab the latest drivers from www.ageia.com and install those.

When finished you should be able to run Dark Physics and continue working with it.

Regards,

Mike""

edit
use search to find 8EC2 that will find the folder with it in.

lets just check, you have :-

1. downloaded the demo of darkbasic pro with the physic build in.
2. downloaded the nvidia physics drivers 08.06.12
3. you have directX 9.c 2007.

So, 1. Check, 2. Check, 3. How do I check?

It shouldn't be looking for NVCUDA.dll unless you have an 8500 M or higher card. It will use the card for physics processing. Try running in software mode instead...

OK, solved that problem, I have an 8800 GT, so indeed it is using the GPU for part of it. Having installed the CUDA files, it now works as it should, very impressive!

Now, I have another problem. I cannot get the debug mode to work, I get an error message that says DirectX is not installed, any clues as to what causes this?

Twisted Steel, How do you get it to run in software mode? I don't have an nVidia card on my laptop so if it doesn't happen automatically then I am afraid I have serious issues. I have followed the steps the HowDo suggested but it had no effect as I still get the same error message as nzjony.

Any help is appreciated.

My issue has yet to be resolved.

I have the latest physics sdk, the latest direct x sdk, all 3 cuda downloads, and the latest physics drivers.

I am running an 8400gt on a lenovo, so I can't dl the drivers from Nvidia and must instead get them from Lenovo... who perhaps haven't updated their drivers yet.

So... how do I run in software mode?

It seems I can't install the CUDA driver (BETA) as it exits with error saying:

---------------------------
NVIDIA Setup Error
---------------------------
The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

So.... seems I don't have an adequate card, though it is a 8400gt Quadro, but surely that shouldn't make a difference. Weird....

Ok chaps, because I had a laptop, things weren't working... but I have fixed it.

I used the 177.35 drivers, with a modded inf I found here:

hope that helps
