Is the DirectX SDK from June 2008 compatible with DarkGDK?

Even if it is, I don't recommend using it. It will require an even newer version of DirectX on the target machine.

Yeah. Newer isn't necessary/recommend until it's been out for awhile ( or you're making a cutting-edge graphics engine, but that's never gonna happen with the DarkGDK ).
