Hi,

I hope no one minds but as we now have a working demo and the previous thread hasn't drawn any comments I was uncertain if anyone knew of the demo's existence.

*EDIT* Thanks for all the comments on this thread to date, having read through them we've made a few changes to the demo which we'd like to think address some of issues encountered.

Changes:

You may now replay the last radio message through the "Y" key.

Picking up a swipe card now tells you which door it belongs to.

Music now plays through the load sequence.

And a couple of tweaks to improve FPS a little.

You may download the latest demo here.

Enjoy!

Mods: Would you please lock the previous thread. Many thanks.

Hi guys,

Thanks to everyone for their comments on both this thread and the previous one, they've been most helpful.

Feed back from people outside the forum has been very positive, but if anyone has actually played the demo from these forums, it'd be really helpful if someone could comment on that as well!

Thanks

finally let me download installing now

-EDIT- Wow man it was AMAZING! kinda stumped me with the boxes and having to jump over and that last message(where you find the gun creeped me out so much i had to stop(not the only reason i had to stop though) anyways the ambience was great the puzzles were awesome and the audio...i have to say made me like this the entire time(though the "hygeine saves lives" part cracked me up because the room was littered with dead bodies at the time)
10.5/10(10.5 because you scared the crap out of me)

Downloading....I'll give feedback once I've played through in edit form.

Edit: Wow, and I mean WOW. I've played demos of fpsc games before but this just blew me away. The ambiance of the game is just amazing (that lady's voice in the facility, man. I didn't really complete the game (btw that game over thing's voice sorta freaked me out lol) but wow, awesome job.

10/10

10/10!!

Thank you... I'll be honest and say that we're pretty happy with the results but it's always nice to hear that others feel the same. The final version is going through a little fine tuning as there are a couple of things that we feel could be better, but really glad people are liking it.

Thank you again.

The doors are supposed to be glass... But yes, it's a shader effect..

I didn't finish the demo because I didn't quite hear the code that the guy on the raido tells you. Overall though the demo was pretty good.

Pros:
-Good use of media
-Tense once I picked up the gun
-Nicely placed sound zones
-The box puzzle

Cons:
-Extremely long loading screen accomponied by that annoying noise
-Lots and lots of doors. I kept feeling like everytime i went through a door I was missing what was behind the other doors so I kept backtracking to go through all of them.
-Lots of key cards. I spent most of the time walking around figuring out which card went to which door and it was more frustrating than challenging.
-A little bit too dark in some areas.

Misc:
-There's ceiling fans in the bathrooms, seems strange.
-The hallways reminded me of laser tag for some reason.

Overall i'm looking forward to the game and hope it goes well. The demo was pretty laggy for me but that might just be my computer. Hope this post is helpful to you.

I agree, and the new version will feature a "replay last radio message" function.

Quote: "Extremely long loading screen accomponied by that annoying noise."

The noise is the default loading sound and is being replaced with music in the final version. The loading time is 35 seconds on my machine, not a lot I'm afraid that can be done about it unless Lee manages to improve the engines performance once more.

Quote: "-Lots of key cards. I spent most of the time walking around figuring out which card went to which door and it was more frustrating than challenging. "

And again, when you pick up a key card now it tells you which door it belongs to..

What are your specs? It's running around 28-32 on my mid end machine and much faster on my colleagues. You might try altering your graphic card settings.

Many thanks for comments.

I had a hard time getting around because it looked so dark in there, I didnt find any weapons or enemies. I did find a key card which let me into a small room, but I don't know why. I tried to get through the fire but my player got stuck and died there. But I like the level layout. It's a good start. Maybe I missed something entirely here, because someone said they found a gun?

Maybe I need a player guide

*UPDATE* The game has grown a fair bit and will now feature around 20 levels rather than the original 14, this has allowed us to improve performance in some areas which we weren't quite happy with, increase interaction with the game environment and in some cases enlarge areas quite considerably adding more in depth game play.

I've also attached one of the latest screen shots from the game.

Although the game is now approaching completion we're still looking for any comments you may have, so we can iron out any issues remaining that we may fail to spot.

You may download the latest demo here.

A couple of new screen shots from later levels..

We intend to post a newer, larger demo in the next week or so featuring the 1st 3 levels, opening up the background a little more and adding slowly to the story.

The full version is due for release at the end of the month, anyone who'd like more information can contact us at jimjamsgames@gmail.com

Thanks,

The archways and pillars are from the Mall level, the overall feel of the Mall is intended to be pseudo Romanesque. Maybe the screen shot was a little misleading in context.

Hi all,

Just to say that the download for this demo is currently down due to some technical difficulties with the latest demo update. Hopefully we'll have this solved later today.
