I've noticed that Anisotropic Filtering is very badly need in many cases with the GDK ( Especially DBPro games. Textures look so blurry I wonder if it's depth of field. ). Is there an easy way to enable AF or AA, for that matter, in a GDK game? Jason, I think this might be a good test of your recent studies.

The left is without AF.

Ohh, so it does something to keep it from getting... blurry?

The left looks like something from Google Earth when you tilt the camera, the right looks almost like its NOT tilted. But, still, it is... Okay, I understand now.

Yeah. It keeps textures from blurring at sharp angles.

Play a DBPro game for a few seconds and notice the effect that the lack of AF has on the textures.

why don't TGC get help from a couple of people to implement these very important features once and for all?

Or will we see all these features in the new DX10 DBpro and the DX9 version will be left to rotten together with GDK?

They really should incorporate it into the GDK.

AA was implemented in 6.0 for DBPro but I'm not sure about GDK.

???

It's not part of the GDK. I know it can be forced with drivers, but I'd like to see some built-in functions for it!

I think AA was inplemented in DBPro 6.9 after months and months of cries from many users

I know it's built in to DBPro, but AA along with AF should be in the GDK, too.

I know it's possible with DX code, but I don't know how, and neither does the majority of GDK users. It should be a built-in function.
