"Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne"
If you don't know anything about it then here's your chance, I scanned this article from my Australian gaming mag for a friend and so decided to post it here also. It's a huge 10 pages (more then half of which are screenshots) and is filled with crappy Aussie jokes that you probably won't get. To make it easier, I uploaded thumbnails to a website so if you're on a slow modem you don't have to wait for the huge screenshots to load. Oh yeah, the images are ridiculously huge so you can read the text (about 1.5mb each).

http://ep.designex.net/MP2

Most of it is crap but amidst it you'll find some nice details about the game. Oh yeah, and any references to PCPowerplay (PCPP) is the name of the magazine in case you were wondering. Enjoy.

Somewhat although it's more how he's aged mentally rather then physically. They explain it quite well, I don't really want to repeat them lol.

The models are quite good although it looks as if the detail has gone more into the texturing then the models themselves so I think the polycount will be surprisingly low.

K now it makes sence. That texture wouldve taken forever.

I doubt that game will run on my computer, its time for an upgrade.

?why didn't you just use the OCX in the scanner program
scan in text with OCX and the pictures in standard 24/32/48bit mode
then thrown it in word to structure it nicely (just seems sensible)
my poor 56k is gonna tell me where to shove my net access i can just see it lol

Hmmmmmmmm max payne , enjoyed that till i got annoyed in the tutorial with the slow function, i can't stand that, i just wanna blow the living hell outta someone with the pump action shotgun. Max payne 2 looks a bit better(sept that max looks like sh*t). but hey who am i to judge. Now i'm off to play condition zero(got the beta copy from my cousin, he hates playing online FPS, just likes making them, no he dosen't work for valve.)

i'd hope not because Value weren't the final developers of CS:CZ
that max looks pretty awesome to me, very lifelike - and i like the aged look ... looks like they might've given him more than a single facial expression this time which is cool

and that 'slow function' or rather Bullet-Time is actually essential to completing the game.

Side there is nothing more satisfying than bursting into a room turning on bullet time capping 2 headshots (instant kills) then spinning around diving behind a counter shooting at another 2 guys with an M16 or jackhammer

My scanner is extremely old, so old that what little of that feature it supports comes out 90% image and 10% text. The reason for that is because it isn't a plain white background and the grey 'art' in the background messes it up. Sorry.

then i'd say update your drivers because OCX was always a driver based affair as opposed to a Scanner one.
if you have problems having the text scan in-in Greyscale ... flick it over to colour mode to do it.
Adobe have alot of good programs to do this.

Yeah, I've played the Kung Fu 'mod' as well although it's a little buggy and it messed with some of the controls making the game a pain in the ass to play because everytime I jumped it triggered off a diving bullet-time which in turn made it very hard to jump onto things lol.

My kung foo mode made me invincible everytime I jumped then turned off if i jumped agin or entered a new part or chapter. I got to finish the game. Also there is a matrix mod that doesnt work but only gives you all leavels and infinite bullettime.

Hope so lol

We all knew a second was coming though, it's just too great a game to not make a sequel. Plus, if you waited until the end of the credits of the first game it says "This is only the beginning" - which implies a definate sequel.

What happen to the supposed film ? Or was that just a marketing ploy ?

Be good if the beef up Bullet Time - so you can see the ripples of the bullets going through the air (ala Matrix).

Uhh yeah, there were about 20 people invited to a 'world exclusive' interview with Remedy and hence why only a few magazines have them and they're all the same.

lol, I didn't hear anything about a Max Payne film although I did hear there would be a Deus Ex one but I seriously doubt that's happening anymore. I also hope they spice up the Bullet Time a bit but not so much like the Matrix because that's just unoriginal
