Hi, I'm wondering how you would go about saving an animation? Currently I'm using 3ds max but when I export as a 3ds file with my bones, the bones lose connectivity to the model. Also wondering how to load animations in db, do you just load each animation as an object? Sorry for the noob question but... I am what I am.

I would but 3ds max doesn't export to .x

Although I did a quick search and someone made one for 3ds max 32bit, sadly I'm running 64bit.

You may need to install and exporter such as panda exporter.

Also darkbasic has a good file converter to convert those 3ds to x format aswell

ooooh alright!! panda exporter is like a gift from the heavens! now my only question is how do you make the animation file play in db? I tried play and loop object but no luck. I'm assuming the "load/play/whatever animation" command is for playing avi's if I remember what I read correctly.

Alright I figured out I had to check bones to get animation working (thought it would render the bones out haha)

Alright new problem that involves animation. UVW unwrap works fine on the models when exporting to .x if the model isnt moving. Although if its animated it completely disregards any UVW coordinates. Any ideas?

Hi guys, I finally got an exporter called Kw X-port seems to work except it doesn't render out the texture, although I can manually take the image and place it on inside of DB. Although it would be really nice if I somehow got the exporter to export the materials. It has the option but just doesn't do it, maybe im missing something, anyone have any ideas?

I dont remember if I posted already or not but I got UVW's working with animation. Thought I tried collapsing the modifier's but I guess I didnt and it fixed that problem. Although now I have a new one. The animation sequence doesnt match what I have in 3ds max. I need to know specifically where to start looping etc. from my models. I tried messing around with pandas animation sampling rate, but its just a guessing game and like I said, I need to know precisely where each keyframe is. Also another quick thought/question - I noticed you can name animation segments when exporting dx files, but doesnt look like dbp can make use of them, is that correct or is there something im missing? Thanks again.
