Hi, firstly apoligies for my last post, I didn't realise I was breaking rules, I understand now though. Anyway just thought that I'd briefly mention a program I've just installed called the Landscape Kit at fpsconline.com. It basically works why by adding a 3x3 segment of whatevers in the library, so you add things like hill mounds and flat or bumpy terrain. I'm just experinting now and I've got to say it's not bad for quick and easy terrain. As for the quality that's okay too. I'm just experimenting with layers for the terrain, I'm attempting to overlay different segments to create a hillside effect which will then lead down to a load of convrete, bridges lifts etc, and a big hold in the ground maybe using the cliff segment. Anyway download it for yourself and see what you think at http://www.fpsconline.com/signsiv/LS-Kit.exe. Enjoy!

Hi Jondx18

Nice find. Its a good system.

Fortunately the FPSC engine will soon be benefiting from full terrain support therefore it will be possible to import full scale terrain maps with fully working collision.

Attached screenshot and link below show an example I put together. It had no player collision detection issues and framerate held up.

It would be nice to see how much mileage can be got out of the landscape kit until this support has been added though.

Nomad - your terrain looks good. The only problem I had with large terrain was placing entities and segments on it was hard for me. I mean to align it just right. LS Kit was designed to make it easy to place things on it. Plus for smaller areas between buildings and such.

Anyway, been playing with larger terrain in S3D

I am curious to see how TGC implements large terrain, one big map, slices or maybe just do something with collisions.

Edit:
jondx18 - thank you
the link should be: http://www.fpsconline.com/landscape.asp

direct links don't work all the time.
