Hi,

Is there anywhere I can find some decent documentation on DarkGDK commands etc?

On the installed files, there is a help file (under the documentation sub folder in the start menu) which is called 'Information' this lists out the commands - but contains very little else no examples or more indepth details.

Also, I am looking for info on dbMemblockByte and the Information help file I have does not have a page for dbMemblockByte - maybe its just my installation??

Theres got to be better a better manual somewhere else on the internet?

I don't think there is one. They don't seem to care about DGDK as much as DBP.

yea - i've noticed this - I asked in a previous post - which is better - DarkGDK or DarkBasic.

The answer which came back was DarkGDK because it uses c++ - but the documentation is rubbish - how can I learn to program in something which has virtually no information about it???

Are you talking about C++ or Dark GDK? One implies programming in, the other implies programming in conjunction with. The former has lots of documentation on the web and in book stores. The latter provides scant documentation that you pretty much have to figure out yourself. Most of it is obvious, some of it takes some guess work.

Look at the DBP docs. They're practically the same, just a different language and the commands LOOK different.

If you don't know C++ well, the documentation looks bad, but its easy enough to figure out if you learn C++ properly. try www.cplusplus.com

cplusplus.com is a great reference for the standard library.

Really, beyond the Documentation that comes with it, there is only the DBPro documentation. I'm not sure if you can get it without buying it. You might get it with the trial of DBPro.

You have to buy it, but almost everything in there applies to DarkGDK.

If you download the Nvidia compo trial you can just copy the help directory out and create a shortcut to the main.htm file on your desktop. That would be better than nothing. You could then cross reference the documentation.

[edit for terrible spelling]

Making nothing for the forth straight year; or is it five years now?
