Hi All

Has anyone published live an online game in DBPro ?

If so please could you post the URL for your site as I would like to see how it runs on dial-up connection.

Many Thanks

Jeff

I think the gist is that many are started but few are finished

I am making a single/multiplayer game but it's not gonna be ready for a while. You could check out my site for a peek if you like (see my signature).

Why? Because it is too hard to make? Or it is because DBpro multiplayer commands are too slow?

As far as I know, DBpro multiplayer commands are relying on DirectPlay, right? So technically, the performance of DBpro multiplayer commands are equivalent to DirectPlay. And DirectPlay is what used by most commercial games.

Correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks!

What do you intend by the term "online"?
This is an online game.

Multiplayer is not necessarily online.
Online is not necessarily multiplayer.

I think multiplayer in computer gaming terms, means online play with other people & has meant this since doom's days. Multiplayer on consols are considered offline most of the time, some online games have been established though for the XBox, GC, DC, & PS2.

I'm currently working on an mmorpg called Wizard Duels: Polj (Polj is the name of the world). We'll be releasing screenshots and info on it very soon. I also hope to make it work with dial-up.
The name might change though, but keep a look out

Cheers,

never tried the DBP multiplayer/online commands because it forces you to use things that you don't want to ... always use selfmade purebasic dll for online communication so i can use udp for example and things like that.
