Hi there,

I know you all hate the old program, but the 8yr olds in my class love it. They've had a great time amking games, and now want to take them home, which I'll happily sort for them. Unfortunatly, whilst I can make the 3dgm run in windows Vista, I can't make the 'Stand Alone Games' run in Vista!

I've downloaded the d3drm.dll file and added it to the exe file, the System 32 file, the file with the stand alone game in, all with no joy. It always come up Runtime error: error 136 or something.

Can anyone help? The kids will be crushed if they've only got vista at home and can't run the games!

Hope to hear from someone soon.

have you tried running in compatibility mode for windows xp before running the exe file. that should make it work i havent personally tried any game maker games so i wouldnt know. but that your best bet. and also try running it in administrative mode.

Thats something we never did in elementary school. Running it in compatability mode might work. If it is a runtime error it probably isn't a missing or broken dll. It probably is compatability. I wouldn't be sure.

my god where, were you when i was in yr8, i had to occupie the school network with my own games

caused a overload in the sever lol

they found i think it was 2000 copies of linerider (when it first came out)

and 1.5 terabytes of music

whuhahahahaha

btw remove the temporary internet files folder or intinate a auto clean constanlty
+make sure they cant acess system32 and the severs

+ since they wanted to spite me they 'lost' my work experience file so i was stuck there working, after a feew pointers i was programmnig away and wrote a scanner to check tempoary internet files for any porn or game/swf acesses and if found with any they would automatically be put on a watcher list

now on topic with your problem ^_^

why dont you just ask the technition for a larger access to the computer abilities in school and build them there .or run the computer in safe mode so it loads you up as an adminstrator or put them on your memory stick and disconnect the sver line in-boot to load as a normal windows

ive pretty much bum fu#### my school's pcs for 5 years although i did more help than damage in the end

ive left now so my secrets are no longer important but i can screw the next generation over
