I'm getting kinda tired of blender 3ds interface and i don't want to spend a whole lot of money. I was wondering what are some good 3d model makers that are free simple to use but are powerful and are compatible with darkbasic pro.

I'm also needing to make animations such as a sit or fire a gun how would i make these

If you're moving away from Blender, you'll probably need a combination of programs, I usually recommend to those with a very low budget:

Wings3D
: Free.Model with this - only model, it's a powerful little modeller that you can export and use between programs (for throwing around other 3D programs I normally used the .obj file format, most, if not all 3d programs can handle it)

Lithunwrap: Free. Do your UVMapping here

The GIMP or Paint.NET: Free image editing programs, can be handy for texturing

Milkshape3D: Approx. $25, good for animation, easy to use, exports brilliantly to a huge range of game engines, including DBP. Also, if anything has gone wrong between movin you model about, say if it lays flat or the textures haven't loaded, you can rotate your model and re-apply textures before exporting.

If you want cutscenes, then pick up anim8or, which is free.

Why not uv map with Wings? And I still think it's strange that anim8or can't export animations even though its name.

Anim8or exports movie files and that's one of its main purposes, also, didn't know Wings had a UVMapper...well, there you go.

@ Programming Maniac, it certainly can lol. http://www.bigbuckbunny.org/index.php/download/

If you don't like Blender then I'd have to agree with the rest and say go for Wings3d. I used to use it until I found Blender :p

For animation, I'm not sure. I've heard good things about Frag motion. I really dislike Milkshape myself but it may suit your needs for animation as well.
