Are there any good tutorials out there for making an Ocean Matrix? Or for that matter is there one included with DB Pro? I have the thing on the way, and am looking to work with an ocean based game once I get my feet wet (couldn't resist) with the language. I've looked at a couple of demos that have this, but haven't found a tutorial, or even one with source code to browse through.

Any pointers to some links would be appreciated!

Thanks.

I tried waves using a matrix before, but its very slow. Update matrix just isn't quick enough.

Your best bet it to make a model of the sea and then scale the y axis using some sine math, to simulate the waves going up and down. If you then scroll the texture on the object too, it looks a lot like the sea is rolling.

o_O Uhhh... use Sin and Cos on a matrix and update it... per wave... so you need to do this multiple times to get multiple waves... if that doesnt make any sense then look at the matrix showcase... thats 1 wave so its 1 cos sin algo...o_O if you want multiple your going to need to do it more than once...

Try the JETSKI Demo. The ocean there was quite impressive. I think source code is included either in that download or in the DBC demo version.
