So this isn't 3D stuff per-say... but its conceptual drawings for 3D stuff. So Im putting it here.

Right now all Im putting up is this picture I did today. Took me about an hour to complete, I didn't really plan it, just started drawing, although I had halo in my mind which is probably why it resembles one of the scenes in halo a fair bit.

It needed more work but my girlfriend saved it as a PNG instead of a PSD and lost all the layer information so that kind of put me off working on it much more as Id have to separate all the layers manually to get what I wanted.

Ill post more as I make them, not much time though so I dont know if that'll be often. Let me know what you think.

Looks great, I really like the character. I wonder what he looks like from the front?

Heres something Ive been working on recently:

Im thinking of having the setting as a church, and the demon coming out of either a wall or a stained glass window. Probably going to keep the human naked. I know right now its not very detailed, but this is how I do all of my concepts, itll get better.

When its done you wont be able to see much of the nakedness as most of the human will be cast in pitch black because of the huge light source in front of him., and he's not facing the camera so really all you're seeing is his backside.

Im also thinking about adding some wings to the demon, and having a few smaller human-sized demons crawling on the walls into the church from behind the big guy. Kind of like the demon (or the human) opened a portal to hell to kick some ass.

Not trying to hi-jack your thread, but look at this. I got bored and drew it one night, I was half asleep.

Err... you might not be trying but you already posted that pic a while ago asking someone to model it for you and Id rather keep "My Concept Art" to my own concept art. Feel free to make a new thread of your own if you want to post images.

Hey Ruccus your work is ace
just wandering what do you use to get your design into a digital image?

do you scan in a bold sketch and then paint it in a program like photoshop?

or do you simply create it all in design program?

thanks for any help,

Owen

Im taking a break from the demon one, though I did get a lot more progress done.

Heres my current project / wip now:

Ive been recording the entire process of me drawing it. Ill upload a sped up version to youtube when Im done.

No, its not porn. Its going to be a female soldier / hero, looking calm while tossing a grenade in her left hand (grenade will be mid-air, notice the out-stretched fingers), standing infront of / looking at a huge mechanical / fat / slug-human type monster (that will be evilly scowling back at the woman).

Another thing, Ive never attempted to shade characters with comic-ink styled shading (with lines, blotched pitch black spots, and dashed/broken arcs) so this is a bit of an experiment. Ive been looking at some old comics to see how they used the shading on different types of drawings, getting a feel for it but Ive still got a lot of practice to go.

Anyways thats the plan.

P.S: @Owen (didnt see your post before): If I draw something on paper or some other surface in "the physical world", ill either scan it in and then trace it in a digital program, or just keep it in front of me and re-draw it digitally if I didnt spend too much time on the physical version itself. But usually I draw right in digital, with a good ol' mouse and photoshop. I really need a tablet.

No seriously, that's pretty amazing, especially considering that you don't have a tablet, I honestly couldn't live without mine. But if you're looking for one the wacom bamboo fun is pretty cheap.
