posted by Hokkshot, Is very very incorrect. A model of this scale should barely excede 400 polys at the very max, A sword takes up very little pixels on the users screen unlike in a FPS, so really you should be aiming between 200 and 399
Heres a couple of quick tri guidelines for Realmcrafter:
Sword or weapon: 200 - 399
Animated character, NPC, MONSTER: 800-2000 ( RC STD )
Small Scenery ( Candle, book, lantern ): 100 polys
Medium Scenery ( Table, Chair, fireplace): 200-300 polys
Large Scenery ( House, buildings, busses, trains): 300-500 polys
Texture Sizes:
Characters: Two 512x512 any higher isnt really needed.
Weapon: 128x128 - 256x256 (depending on size and detail )
Small scenery: 128x128
Medium Scenery: 256x256
Large scenery: 512x512
These are just guidelines to the MAX AMOUNT OF TRIS ( not quads!!!!) and the max amount texture sizes. If you stay within these limits then your game has more opportunity for working on lower end machines.
Textures effect VRAM, so keep them low if possible.
Polygon count although isnt as large a effect as texture sizes, keep it small as possible.
