If you insist =)

Thanks =) Some 2D coding experience and some inspiration should do the trick. You just need to give it a serious try first cause that's probably the biggest problem. Once you get used to pixel coordinates it's kinda fun =)

This editor got almost 4½ pages over at RGT and here I get 1 reply from a guy that replied multiple times over at RGT first. No wonder I never visit these forums. They are barely alive.

AlthonMobile 600Mhz
GeForce2 Go!
256Mb Ram
WindowsXP SP1
DirectX 9.02.beta

70-80fps

Itainium 2.8Ghz
GeForceFX nv36
1.5Gb Ram
Windows .Net
DirectX 9.02.beta

1500fps (i'm wondering if thats the dbp cap)

it was certainly very very slick to use, and no two guesses for what UI was your major influence - but you've done a very good job at your own take on it.
lets hope it still performs this well with a few things inside it

Be happy you've got this many replies DG.Lol, my matrix editor(although it's not as slick), has gotten about 15 replies from both RGT, and these forums.About 8 or 9 of those are mine.

That had some effect =)

Morph:
Thanks =)

That laptop didn't do so well. I guess it's because of the GPU.

ESC at RGT got around 2400 or was it 2600 in 1024x768 on a 2.53 ghz p4 with 512 megs of ram and a radeon 9700. It will speed up in lower resolutions and better systems. I don't think there's a cap cause if I alt+tab out of the editor and back I can get over 8000 and I usually get 600. I really runs as fast as it can.

Yepp, it's inspired by Lightwave =) And thanks =) The editor itself should always run this fast. But when I dock the game itself into the editor it hopefully runs around the same speed as without the editor.

Yellow:
I prefer the RGT forums cause more ppl visit and reply in the showcase. It's definatly better now

sounds weird to me because none of my GeForce get over 1,500fps in dbp - they do in Dx native, had that particular system upto 14,000fps before on the Pixel Shader demo.
can't wait til the Althon64 is released, from tech specs i've seen even the slowest is the same speed as 2 of the CPU's i'm currently running.

personally i've always prefered here more for comments... you might not get as many but usually the interest shown is more genuine than just a passing "ooh gotta try and say something" on RGT which leads to alot of posts that just read "fantastic" and you're left wondering what fps they got lol

Nah, you're wrong. Over at RGT ppl ask about my game even though I'm not telling yet. The animated menues was a tip I got. And when I asked for FPS that's what I got. I usually get more constructive replies at RGT. And it's also nice to know that you get noticed. Not getting any replies isn't fun.

yeah but to be fair your hardly ever here unless your pushing something your developing... i mean its hard for alot of people to get worked up about something something is working on that just isn't around when they want to actually talk about it.

most who do go over to RGT anyways because they know your there far more - its like if i posted something about a plugin i'm working on over at RGT, i doubt they'd show much interest if any because they just don't really know me over there anymore.

When I did doubleposting with TML I got loads more reples at RGT so I decided that the extra work wasn't worth it. Over at RGT I got loads of ideas that made TML better then it first was. I don't remember if I got any usefull ideas in this forum, maybe I got one.

It's a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo 8820 - native resolution is 1400 X 1050 on the 15" screen. Runs all games REALLY WELL. I play Unreal 2, Jedi knight 2, max payne, e.t.c with no problems. Current price is only £1000 (cost me £1300 5 months ago!). They now do 3.06G model for £1300

Only complaint is the system menu stays visible when you click the data button. Could get a bit annoying.

fps ~240
P4 2.0
Nvidia GeFource4 4200 go @ 1920x1200
512 mb ram

Ah, with that kind of res I understand why your FPS is so low. Sounds like a nice system, I'm thinking about buying a laptop. I don't know when though.

Winch:
The system menu opens and closes on the button but it will also close down when you use something from it. Everything on that menu will open up a dialog later.

What kind of a monitor do you got when you're running that res? On a regular 19" monitor most run it in 1600x1200. If you lower the res you get a higher FPS.

It's a laptop with a wide screen display. Lowering the res will increase the fps but doesn't allways look as good.

Ah, didn't see the go on the graphics card =) Those laptops are prety expensive. Would be nice to work on one. How do games run on a widescreen. Do you get black lines on the edges running a 4:3 resolution?

Weird, I didn't realise that running in 16bit mode was twice as fast as 32bit mode. This seems to be the norm with all DBPro programs!

1400 X 1050 X 16 = 405
1400 X 1050 X 32 = 190

800 X 600 X 16 = 1235
800 X 600 X 32 = 615

All new comercial games I have played look normal. The only trouble is you have to play at massive res other wise the games use 4:3 and stretch the image to fit the screen. I think you can have 4:3 with borders but it happens so infequently I haven't bothered trying.

Also tested on my desktop PC,

AMD Athlon XP 2000+
512MB
MSI GeForce4 Ti4600 (128MB)
XP Home SP1

1024 X 768 X 16 = 2590
1024 X 768 X 32 = 1280

If you run a DB/P game in exclusive mode. Take my TML demo for example that can run in 800x600 and 1024x768. Will you get borders? Will the image look crap cause the screen is made for a higher res? (demo on my site if you wanna try)

Sonic:
Nice system you got there =) Me wants! You only get about 2x the FPS I got =) 32bit are 2 bytes more data/pixel then 16bit, that's twice as much data.
