Hi, for the past couple of days ive been in the depths of google as well as trying weird setting in the exporter im using (panda exporter for 3ds max). I finally got the animation to export correctly with uvw coordinates but now the animation timeline doesnt match the one im using in 3ds max. Obviously knowing where keyframes for different animations are is pretty essential. Does anyone have any ideas? I've also tried different exporters/different programs and each have there own set of problems.

Make sure the framerate setting in the exporter matches the framerate you are using in max. For example, if you are animating at 25FPS in max, make sure the panda exporter samples the animation at 25FPS as well.

You can also edit the length of the animation in the panda exporter as well, I think you have to click on the range setting first, then it will give you access to an EDIT button to specify the time range you'd like to export.

Thats what my settings have been. 3ds max is set to 30fps nad I have animation method set to "sampled" (keyframes only messes with the bones) and timeline set to "key seq" because its actually closest to being where the right keyframes need to be. If I select 3ds max ticks it goes unbelievably slow compared to what it should be -ex: the 5th keyframe would be near 3000 or something to that degree. My animation sampling rate is set to 30 which is what your talking about with the 3ds max timeline, correct?

wow, ive had the the past couple days and didnt even know it haha, man do I feel stupid. figured out I was off by like one keyframe and it was moving faster than normal so that made it look like it was missing even more keyframes. I just set the object speed and now all is wonderful! thanks guys, answer was under my nose the whole time.
