I have created a wiki, because it seemed like what people wan5ted, for DarkGDK.
You can find it at http://darkgdk.wikia.com
Sign up and start adding pages, like tutorials for beginners, and documentation for each command, better than the stuff that comes with GDK (eg examples)

Also, people like Jason may want to add sections for their own tools for GDK like the OOP.

For an article in a particular category, like a command or a tutorial, we shoulkd try to follow the same template

I'm adding a few pages for different commands. If I'm doing a really horrible job, or just not what you were intending to be done, feel free to flame me/delete my pages (or just edit them like crazy).

I just saw your example with the 3D command. I'll make them all in that style.

Also, I'm new to Wiki's so I'm not sure if I'm even able to do this, but there needs to be a 2D Commands, Core Commands, Display Commands, Input Commands, and Sound Commands category, to start.

I think writing tutorials is a great idea, jezza. We really should get a list together of a few basic tut's to start with. Eventually, more comprehensive tutorials over such things as RPG's would be a great resource for those learning. With just a little bit from everyone (and a little extra from the more knowledgeable among us) we really might make something great with this. It will probably end up in a newsletter!

I didn't label categories because I didn't see a suitable one made yet. I may have missed it, though. Sorry. I'll check back soon.

I can help with all of the non-3D commands, such as display and 2D commands.

I'm working with the 3D object commands right now, though I don't have much more time.

I'm not familiar with the 3D commands at all, so I'll just fill in the other commands best I can.

Thanks, Sun, for adding that category. I'm new to wiki's. So, I need to add [[Categoryisplay Commands]] to the first line of every article that it belongs in?

It should be at the end. and if a category doesn't exist, you can add a category thing with whatever name you want, and it will be made.

It might be a good idea for articles similar to the ones in DarkBASIC Professional help to use the same categories as that help system. Keeping consistency ought to make the wiki easier to use.

Oh, alright. It's organized into 23 categories: core commands, text commands, input commands, file commands, display commands, basic 2D commands, bitmap commands, sound commands, music commands, sprite commands, image commands, animation commands, light commands, camera commands, basic 3D commands, matrix commands, world commands, particle commands, 3D maths commands, ftp commands, memblocks commands, multiplayer commands, and system commands.

On second thought, that might be a bit much...and I've never seen the FTP commands section before!

Sounds good. Though, you may be right about the number of them. We might end up combining a few of them.

Seriously, I'm having trouble understanding how to use it, mostly in terms of the structure and, possibly, formatting. Nothing is clear as to how I could/should enter, categorize and format an article, especially one that doesn't seem to have been included in the list of "needs doing."

Go the the dbSetDisplayMode article, and hit "Edit this Article/Page" to see how it's formatted. Just follow that standard.

Just created an article on dbSprite and assigned it the category "2D Commands". Although the article is there I don't see the category.

Anyone notice that the name of the article is automatically capitalized, thereby ruining the case sensitivity?

Be sure to reference other commands and enclose them with double brackets for links.

and also, just because it isn't on pages that need making doesnt mean it doesnt need making. to make that list i had to copy all the commands, then go through one by one making them in decent links for the wiki. i just couldn't be bothered to do any more than the 3d ones
