how can I get more charicters on one map so it don't crash, or how many can I fit.

Making a fps game.

you can put as many as you want...at the expense of framerate.

To specify, you can out as many characters as you wish, but do not make more than...maybe 5 characters in one room. This will slow down you game considerably. Spread you characters out in your level. By doing this you'll be able to have more guys, and the frame rate will be higher.

Also, try to have them activate by a trigger zone.

Have them not spawn (invisible) to start and then spawn them (make them reappear) as the player gets near where they are. The Official Guide has a tutorial section on this. Good luck.
