What is the simplest way to calculate an angle in dark gdk?

I have looked at dbTan and dbTanFull, but I don't understand how to formulate a point as a float.

if I have my
start point at x1 = 2, y1 = 2.
and
end point at x2 = 4, y2 = 4.

The angle between these two points should be 45°.

So any clue how to get that angle?
