I'm a multimedia student at the Pittsburgh technical institute, and I had my first 3DS max class yesterday. All I can say is...
I LOVE IT!!! It is infinitely better than Milkshape, (What I have now) and I can't wait to get my own copy.
So how many of you guys have 3DS Max? Did you always use it or did you start with something smaller? How long have you been using it?

...but I am the ferret king!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! tremble before my ferret minions!

I don't really have max but I do have maya, and yes I do love it, it's a great software. And no I've not used it forever, I first started with Milkshape for a while, then I used Anim8or, and after that I even used Blender for a long period of time. And now I use maya.
Oh and

Well you know Milkshape is like 20 bucks and well... Max is what? 3000 bucks (don't quote me on that though, not sure on the price)?

Max is $3,495. Well the student version is only $395.

I have max for my school and I absolutely love it as well, I really like the interface because it just flows with me.

RIP Max-Tuesday, November 2 2007
You will be dearly missed.

That was my point, that max was obviously better (well more full featured) and the price was just a enhancer of that.

I like it, but only model somethings in it I use a sketchup+3ds max combo

Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.

I've been using max since i was only 10.If you want to make high quality game models then you should go for Max.
