I would like a Game Ideas & Theories forum, for, well the exact thing. That would be great to discuss how to do certain things (with no code), pseudo stuff, etc etc etc. I would really like it, so would a ton of other ppl I know..

hmm.. i see more.. some of them will continue flaming about the ideas by including that this is the correct way to code it, though its clearly stated that its an Idea forum, not Coding forum.. they have Coding forum one already, but nooooo they won't listen..

hmm.. there are several ppl that will ignore these egoistic programmers / defend their creative ideas by telling them off to get lost..

several *big companies* will come inside and start recruiting ppl because their ideas was good..

So? It would help people with ideas / how to do some things. I have many many ideas on doing tile engines, diffrent ways for doing everything from loading tiles, to AI...

Sorry for delayed response..

But Game Ideas & Theories would NOT be code mostly. Unlike the other forums, it would be where ppl discuss diffrent methods of doing srange things that are not widely known.

One of the things I would love to get opinions on are ways of Tile Clossion in 2D RPGs..Instead of tile by tile collision, why not a pixel barier that users can not pass, eh?

As I was taught at uni, there is a science to game design; You can determine specifically what a game needs to swing it into the playability sweet-spot. There are "rules" that you can follow and principles to employ which make sure that your game, no matter what style, has that je ne said quoi...

In short, provided that dickheads keep out, a Game Design & Theory forum gets my vote. If you've got an idea for a game, but think it falls short, why not ask for some gamers' advice?

when the new site is up, can i (shameless ad) be one of the Game Design & Theory forum's Mod? I'm good with good critiques, praising with creative comments, Zero-Flame record in this forum, i'm a designer myself + recently teaming up with Yuusuke & Daz, i'm online 24/7 for pete sake, etc etc. vote me! vote me!
