Well go to the ZBrush web site and learn about Retopology. That would be a good start.

God, I've always wanted to learn how to use Zbrush. I even have the program on my computer, I find it too complicated. Maybe if I can find some good tutorials I'll give it a shot, but for now, I'll just stick with 3ds Max

Really? I think it's extremely intuitive, just download some tutorials (video tutorials are the best ) and after a few minutes you'll be ready to go.

Zbrush is easy to use once you get stuck in (easy as in, it's intuitive to use and it's really up to your artistic abilities) - I wrote a tutorial when I had a Demo of Zbrush 2 - (I didn't go into a large amount of detail, at the time I had a low spec computer that couldn't go into the fine details) It's a absolute beginner to first textured model tutorial. At the time I was just learning myself, but I thought I'd document what I had done with more depth.

However the host I uploaded it to is gone, but I should still have the .pdf somewhere (I'll have a look later)

Excellent model Neo! I'm still yet to purchase Zbrush myself...maybe in a couple of months.

If I'm not mistaken, don't you use the Zbrush high poly model to make a normal map for your lower poly base model?

Yes you can. (If i'm not mistaken) I think that's what John Fletcher does - it's certaily was certain game modellers do. Silo 2 also comes with that capability.

yes u can make a normal map from a high polygon model. but their are a lot of requirments u have to do before hand. you have to actually model the base model in another program. seperate it into each object. such as arms, legs, and body. then u have to unwrap each object.

then u have to brang them all in as a subtool. and build your tool in z brush. then save your tool. and reload it. u then use the tool that u reload to scultp extra detail, but it has to have the same profile. but once u have added all of your detail, u can then use the projection master to copy the extra detail to the old tool that u saved. and out comes your normal map.

What you are trying to do is trying to make it sound harder than it really is, it really is just as simple as first modeling he base mesh (low poly) and then UV Mapping it and taking it into Zbrush and sculpt the detail and then generate a normal map, and you don't have to use Zbrush, there are a whole bunch of other softwares out there.

You don't have to make a Base model in another program. You can make it in ZBrush if you wanted, using Zspheres. Another thing is you don't have to split up all the body parts just make a good UV map. You really are making it harder then it needs to be.

Bah! You post before I could This topic is about ZBrush

Where are the wings?

Remember those old guys? They made epic renders, I think one of them was called DaVinci, and all they used was MS Paint. Sometimes it's just skill....
