Hi,

I am almost done with my 3d model but realised later on when i will put my character ingame, how will i connect the gun to his hands. I plan to make it third person. Do i have to make a tag/magnet that i put in his hand and that is where the gun will be in the game. I plan on using Dark GDK. Thanks.

I'd imagine that would be to do with attaching the model to a skeletal bone.......

FPSC uses a bone called FIRESPOT to do just that....

It's possible, trust me....just don't ask me what commands to use, I'd take this one to the DBP Newcomers board....

I don't know much about DarkGDK, but in DBPro, you would use the GLUE OBJECT TO LIMB command. See if there is anything like that in GDK.
Soryy I couldn't be more helpful

you would use the limb commands, found in the basic 3D help menu. Commands such as ADD LIMB amd LINK LIMB. Look into that.

I am sorry if this is the noob-iest question ever, but where is the basic 3D help menu? Or is that for DBP.

No, you don't need the help menu. Load your model into this little program I made, it will tell you the limb numbers of all the limbs on your character object. The limb number for the hand is the limb number you want to glue the object to.

Program is attached.

limb checker was made in DBp so it will accept .x files. and it will work for GDK. DGDK is basically just DBP but as a GDK

Alright. My model is one whole object. I am trying to decide if i should use a biped or bones. The bones or biped part do count as limbs right, and i can connect it to that.
