hi all

i am trying to make my owen custom segments with the use of 3ds max 9, and the fpsc segment editor. and i think i need some help to find out why noting happen when i push the "Caltulate visibility" in the segment editor.

here is what i had done so far...

1.
build a floor in 3ds max 9, a box made it to a "mesh" that is Lenght 100pixel x Width 100pixel x Height 6pixel

2.
build a wall in 3ds max 9, a box made it to a "mesh" that is Lenght 100pixel x Width 100pixel x Height 6pixel

3.
placed em like that in 3ds max 9 "look at the screenshot pic01.jpg"

4.
exportet them with pandasoft direct x export tool for max 9. with these options on. "look at the screenshot pic02-pic06.jpg"

5.
so i loaded the floor up in the segment editor placed it right over the ground, then i put on the texture,

6.
so i load up the wall in the north side first, place it so it hit the ground and overlapping the floor on the egde. after that i load up the texture for the wall.

7.
so i copy the wall "ctlr+c ctrl+v" and rotate it 90 degress to the right. that i do 3 times and so it looks like this. "look at the screenshot pic07.jpg"

8.
but now i got the problem, when i hit the caculate visibility button, nothing happens. anyone that can help me out here, im really stock here.
is it something i place wrong or is the export optins not right or what can be wrong. had worked a long time now without find a soulution, hope someone can help me.

Thx Lars

hm, it not funtion, when i place them down in a square like 5x5 for making one room, it just clear out some random walls, so i had tryed manual in the .fps file to edit the visibility but without any luck. had tryed to change it to this

=====================
== MY EDIT VERSION ==
=====================
;Segment Visibility

visoverlay = 0
visfloor = 0
visroof = -1
viswallb = 3
viswallr = 2
viswallf = 1
viswalll = 4
viscornertl = -1
viscornertr = -1
viscornerbr = -1
viscornerbl = -1

==================================
== WHAT THE SEGMENT EDITOR MADE ==
==================================

;Segment Visibility

visoverlay = 0
visfloor = 0
visroof = 1
viswallb = -1
viswallr = -1
viswallf = -1
viswalll = -1
viscornertl = -1
viscornertr = -1
viscornerbr = -1
viscornerbl = -1

But it not seems to work, it just continue to clear random walls when i try to make a 5x5 room in fps creator map editor.
